Strategic Adviser Cancer Care Macmillan Cancer Support
Dany has 40 years’ experience as a registered nurse, with 31 years in the NHS working in cancer and specialist palliative care. Latterly, 10 years’ experience leading cancer services as lead cancer nurse/cancer manager as a joint role responsible for leading strategic direction for cancer services and day to day operational management of performance, experience of care and quality.
Dany joined Macmillan 12 years ago and is currently a Strategic Adviser Cancer Care in the centre of clinical expertise team providing subject matter expertise. She started to explore Macmillan’s role in genomics in 2017, moving into the strategy team in 2020 as Strategic Adviser Treatment, New Medicines and Genomics, subsequently influencing improved information on Macmillan’s website and a learning offer for professionals in collaboration with NHS England. This culminated in the development of a genomics toolkit for professionals.
