Simon Vincent

Chief Scientific Officer Breast Cancer Now

Simon Vincent has a background in cancer research, including as a post-doc at the former Imperial Cancer Research Fund laboratories in London. In 2000 he joined the Cancer Research Campaign, and lived through the merger with the ICRF to form Cancer Research UK. His work there included leading the team that looked after the charity’s fellowship funding. He spent a year at the Academy of Medical Sciences, where his team supported early-career biomedical researchers through mentoring, career support, policy development and by awarding grants. In 2014, Simon joined the research team at Breakthrough Breast Cancer, before going through another charity merger to form Breast Cancer Now, where he become Director of Research. In 2019 he led the research team as the charity went through a further merger, with Breast Cancer Care. Simon is now Chief Scientific Officer at Breast Cancer Now, where he is responsible for the charity’s research portfolio and its work on public health and breast cancer awareness.
